Nautilus purchased the business and equipment of Strong & Weiland, Inc of
Hampden, Maine on April 10th, 2007. The equipment is up and running
perfectly at the Nautilus shop at 13 Industrial Way in Trenton. This machine will handle sheets of material up 6 ft wide by 12 ft long and 6 inches thick. They can cut just about any thing except tempered glass with extreme accuracy. The water jet uses computer numerical controls to layout, nest, and cut the parts with 60,000 PSI of water pressure. This cutting capability has a wide range of applications in the marine, industrial, construction, and even art fields.

Nautilus added computerized boat propeller repair capability in 2004. With a blend of old fashioned craftsmanship and high tech equipment Nautilus offers an impressive line of services. Nautilus has joined the growing number of marine based businesses to take advantage of the federal grant being administered by the State of Maine called the North Star Alliance.
This grant is aimed at increasing good jobs in the marine industry by helping with on the job training expenses, apprenticeship programs, and tax incentives for businesses that add good paying jobs in the marine industry.
